What Is ChipTuning?
Chiptuning is the optimization of software in the engine control unit / adjustment of the unit's diagnostic parameters used by all modern engines. By modifying the program stored in this unit, it is possible to safely increase power by up to 35% and torque by up to 40%. In most cases, this increase also reduces fuel consumption by up to 15%. You can find the exact gains for individual models and brands in the power tables menu.
Who is chiptuning for?
Our customer base is very diverse. First of all, it includes young drivers who want the most powerful car possible, but because of cost, chiptuning is the best and most affordable way for them to increase power. Another large group consists of everyday drivers who want more confidence in critical situations such as overtaking. A very significant part of our customer base also includes people who want to save on fuel. Last but not least, there are professional drivers of buses and trucks for whom the standard power of the bus or truck is not sufficient.
Why make these modifications?
Because car manufacturers produce engines for different markets with very different operating conditions - such as emission limits, low fuel quality, different service interval lengths, and in some countries even insurance costs based on engine output - they are forced to compromise engine power in order to satisfy the widest possible market without producing many software versions of the same engine for each country. As a result, in most cases the software uses only about 60% of the engine's design potential. That is why software optimization is possible without reducing engine life.
How does the vehicle behave after optimization?
The main benefits include more flexible engine response, reduced delay between pressing the accelerator and the start of acceleration, and earlier torque delivery at lower RPM. This increases driving comfort with less need for shifting and also improves safety, for example when overtaking or in emergency situations where maximum engine power is needed.
What is the engine lifespan after the modification?
When optimizing control unit software, great emphasis is placed on the lifespan of the engine and related components such as the gearbox, clutch, driveshafts and other vehicle parts. The modifications we offer are thoroughly tested and calibrated so that these vehicle parts do not suffer reduced lifespan and the emission limits set by the manufacturer are not increased.
