Engine power measurement
What is engine power measurement useful for?
To determine the real engine power. Compared with various OBD measuring programs, engine power measurement on a rolling road is absolutely accurate.
It can also be used as a diagnostic tool in the event of a vehicle warranty claim at the dealer when low engine power is suspected - e.g. Octavia RS TDi, where injectors often fail and engine output can then drop to around 100 kW instead of the manufacturer's stated 125 kW.
Is power measurement safe?
It depends on the type of rolling road. Our company uses a professional dyno from the Dutch company DynoStar. Unlike most cheaper solutions, it is a two-roller brake dyno with side stops that can prevent almost any possible accident, such as the vehicle slipping sideways off the dyno.
Everyone can form their own opinion, but the difference between dynos is obvious at first glance - see the photo on the right.
Is it necessary to measure all modifications?
Standard modifications that we offer - see the power tables - do not need to be measured. Nearly all customers who use our power measurement service are interested in individual sport modifications, for example for higher engine power or after replacing the turbocharger or injectors with larger ones.
What vehicles can be measured?
Any vehicle with one driven axle (front or rear) and power up to 240 kW (326 HP).
Where can the measurement be carried out?
We offer power measurement only at our headquarters in Prague. The other branches are not equipped with a rolling road.
