How Does Power Measurement Work?

A work order is prepared with the customer and the vehicle is then taken over by a technician.

Securing the vehicle

The vehicle is driven onto the rolling road and secured with straps due to the high speeds reached on the dyno, often over 300 km/h.

Power measurement

In the first phase, engine RPM are calibrated with the rolling road (gear ratio is set), followed by the actual engine power measurement - for example by accelerating in 5th gear from the lowest engine RPM all the way to the rev limiter. Throughout the measurement, the vehicle is cooled by professional fans.

Vehicle handover

Finally, the vehicle is handed over to the customer together with the graph and a consultation with the technician who performed the measurement.
