What Is Chiptuning?

What Is ChipTuning?

Chiptuning is the optimization of the software in the engine control unit used by all modern engines. By modifying this program stored in the unit, it is possible to safely achieve a power increase of up to 35% and a torque increase of up to 40%. In most cases, this increase is also accompanied by a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 15%. Exact power increase values for individual models and makes can be found in the menu under performance tables.

Who Is Chiptuning For?

Our customer base is very diverse. First of all, there are young drivers who want the most powerful car possible, but given the prices, chiptuning is the best and most affordable way for them to increase their car's power. Others are everyday drivers who want more confidence in critical situations such as overtaking. Another strongly represented group consists of those who want to save on fuel. Last but not least are professional drivers of buses and trucks for whom the power of the tractor unit or bus is insufficient.

Why These Modifications?

Because car manufacturers build engines for different markets where vehicle operating conditions differ considerably, such as emission limits, lower-quality fuels, different service intervals, and in some countries even insurance premiums based on engine power, manufacturers are forced into certain compromises in engine output so they can satisfy the broadest possible market without having to produce one engine with many software versions for each country. As a result, in most cases the software uses only about 60% of the engine's design potential. This makes software optimization possible without reducing engine life.

How Does the Vehicle Behave After Modification?

The main advantages include a more flexible engine response, reduced delay between pressing the accelerator pedal and the start of acceleration, and torque coming in at lower revs. This increases driving comfort with less need to shift gears and also improves safety, for example when overtaking and in critical situations where maximum engine power is needed.

What Is the Engine Life After Modification?

When optimizing control unit software, great emphasis is placed on the service life of the engine and related components such as the gearbox, clutch, drive shafts, and other vehicle parts. The modifications we offer are thoroughly tested and fine-tuned so that they do not reduce the lifespan of these vehicle parts or increase the emission limits set by the manufacturer.
